Mama Chow purchasing vegetables. Vege Baron ok-ed my picture-taking. Love the liveliness of pasars.
Mama Chow enjoying some nangka at home.
Our most darling snarly-cat, Ah Hua, basking in the sun.

Mama Chow too modest to take credit for her good work. Oops who forgot to rotate the photo.

Chee Cheong Fun expertly done.

Below, an expert maker of Chee Cheong Fun and easily one of the most handsome men on the island. I think it is important to experience him in person, his winning posture, humble manner, gentle pride as he authoritatively serves up the best CCF on the island. Also when he gets hotter later in the morning, he removes his shirt and wears just a white singlet neatly tucked into his shorts. I really admire his neatness and careful grooming.
Deeply Fried Foods. Featuring the yow za kuai, the ham ching peng, and other fried doughy goodness, y'know.
I thought this was a security measure or a device with which he could carry on a face-to-face conversation with his neighbour Ah Pek while he's deep-frying foods with his back turned but now I think the rear view mirror is actually a rear view mirror because the entire stall is a vehicle, or attached to a vehicle.
Deeply Fried Foods say Hello! from pink plastic bag.
The Koay Teow Th'ng stall - good.
Char Koay Teow with Duck Egg. I'd read so much about vkeong's love for Char Koay Teow with duck egg in BM I really wanted to try this. I'm not sure if this was quite the same deal but it was definitely good char koay teow. I must say though that Bee Hooi's is superior in prawn freshness - these weren't bad but they didn't measure up.
Very good, extremely lardy - be warned.
Siam Laksa - I think, correct me if I'm wrong here this is basically assam laksa with santan - I tried a spoonful of this and thought it was great. Mag said that an entire bowl was a bit too heavy and thick for her.
