I Just Wanna Get Along at Blue Cow Cafe, Plaza Damas

When I was thinking for an opening hook for this post, I thought only and only of this one song.

"We were rich once
Before your head exploded"

The Roast Pork served with a huge dollop of coleslaw and mash on that Saturday morning was handsome and induced happiness.

"Imagine doing what just the Big Bang did"

The Applesauce that came served in a separate jar was tart and tight, elevating the Roast Pork to new possibilities.

"The whole world knew it was loaded
Wave bye bye cause it ain't ever coming down now"

The Grilled Pork Loin, a little less profuse in flavour and tenderness, simmered and sulked, demanding for more attention and praise. The tougher material was challenging to work with but we gave it all we had and placated the raging victim within. Just for a short while though.

"I just wanna get along" Jeng-Jeng!

I returned to the crisp comfort of the Roast Pork and surrendered with a sigh.

"I look up
The heads fly over
I see a boy I know
His hair's on fire"

The pilgrimage of pork that sussed out this and that happened at:
Blue Cow Cafe
N-1-4, Plaza Damas
60, Jalan Sri Hartamas
Tel: 03-62013206

"The whole world I discovered
If you're so special why aren't you dead"

The tune's "I Just Wanna Get Along" by the Breeders. Listen here. Pretty awesome eh?

ahhh, caption the photos with song lyrics ... my favorite game!!! :D
i'm a lot more old-fashioned, so i'll go with gershwin's "i loves you, porgy." here goes:
1. roast pork: "I loves you, Porgy,
Don't let him take me
Don't let him handle me
And drive me mad"
2. applesauce: "If you can keep me
I wanna stay here with you forever
And I'll be glad"
3. pork loin: "Someday I know he's coming to call me
He's going to handle me and hold me"
4. pork loin: "So, it's going to be like dying, Porgy
When he calls me
But when he comes I know I'll have to go"
thanks for letting me play! =)

mimid3vils, not bad. 2 pax, 1 beverage came up to about RM60. Decent for the large portions.

Nahri, yes that be the one my young padawan.

LFB, I know... if only this was the case every Saturday. Bliss!

TNG, hey don't want to rain on your parade but not sure if Bagel Station is still around... didn't walk to that area this time but can't recall having seen it when I drove past it! :-S Tough market lah!

Sean, haha!! That's a great rendition! Gershwin would be beaming with pride! :o)

Bangsar Babe, yeah it does sit out somewhat isolated from the main strip so had second thoughts about diving in as well. No regrets whatsoever!

Qwazymonkey, the resemblance is uncanny!! Haha!! Kaya with pork, could be a new standard!

Little Inbox, and it was absolutely crunchy in taste too!

J, pork is music to our ears... everything else is just accompanying noise! :-P

Duckie, you're one of the rare ones aren't you? I seem to find food bloggers in general gravitate towards pork.

Christy, ooh didn't mean to start you off with that visual! I was actually referring to a certain character very much related to this post! The food, I can assure you, is not the least bit gory!

Give me roast pork and I am happy! Western style comes with sweet sauce??!

Big Boys Oven said...

wow! you did a pork marathon? lol!

minchow said...

J2Kfm, wait, did beef ever supersede Pork? Not in my books, I don't think!

Ciki, I can think of many less impressive ways to start the day. The weekend beckons - what other porky delights are in store, I wonder?

iamthewitch, I have to say the roasted one is far superior to the loins! You have a gift for spotting these things!

Worldwindows, applesauce & roast pork is a pretty standard Western dish I think. And the sauce's not ALL sweet, it's plenty sour too!

BBO, where got marathon? Need probably a few more dishes to even come close to a half marathon, haha!

Is the roast pork really good?? How about the price? The dish looks TOO similar to the roast pork belly at Nambawan Cafe in Old Klang Road (I've yet to blog 'bout that)...and the one at Nambawan was yummy @ RM12.90 only! If you think the dollop of mash & coleslaw here is wow, wait 'til u see the one at Nambawan...I had a hard time finishing the mash...
