I'm Spicy Thai

Petaling Jaya's latest Thai offering I'm Spicy is located in the fringes of Section 17 bordering SS2, on the same row as Kanna's.

Green Curry Chicken Rice was a very moist, almost wet affair. We probably would have fared better ordering the curry standalone and loading up on white rice on the side instead.

The recommended Som Tam Tort (Deep Fried Papaya Salad), which was regretted. Appreciate that it's a different twist to the good ol' dependable Som Tam but just didn't see the point of dunking all that freshness and different textures of fruit, nut and vegetable into oil.

I'm Spicy did pass the Tom Yam Goong test - not good enough to be declared super awesome but it does get the sour & spice balance tick.

The menu is somewhat limited but the restaurant does serve pork and declares it a specialty, specifically the deep fried pork ribs (which we passed because in favour of the deep fried salad). Not willing to write this one off till we have a go at that.

Guess it was spicy but not spicy enough to spice up the tastebuds, eh? :P

oooh, i like the name of this place! saucy! i wonder though: since my system is bad at handling spicy food, will it seem ridiculous for me to eat here and order the least spicy items? heheh :D
actually the food looks fascinatingly creative at first glance. the chicken curry rice seems like a nice, creamy risotto.

Som Tam Tod is unheard of having lived in Thailand. I stand corrected? Tod means deep-fried in Thai. I tod only the Japanese do that.

LFB, bingo! If I do make it back, will make a request for them to pile on the spice!

Sean, I think you'll do just fine. The recommended stuff like the pork ribs etc are apprently pretty mild.

Pureglutton, let's! I hope the pork dishes fare better than the stuff sampled so far. Can't say they bowled me over!

Worldwindows, hahaha, I definitely tod the deep fried interpretation was unnecessary and not worth the effort!

Julian, hehe, yes like a roesti, but minus the substance of a hearty root vegetable to make all the grease worthwhile! :-)

Joe, perhaps that's my main gripe with it - I am control freak and want to do as much of the mixing as possible myself!

Qwazymonkey, let me know how your pork encounter goes! Much as I love the oinkers, it's not quite compelling enough for me to make a repeat visit for now!

Ciki, I saw Boo's post too - same neighbourhood but different joint, I think! The place in Happy Mansion with the pork noodles looks so much more authentic!
